APPLICATION: WORKS WITH SAVAGE 21 RTR, 25 RTR, & 25 SS.
This is the GPM Racing 13 Fin Billet Machined Aluminum Heat Sink Cooling Head for the Savage engine. This replaces the weaker stock die cast 11 fin heat sink head on the 21BB, Force 25, and Force 26 engines (see note below regarding Force 25 & 26). This billet heat sink head is machined from a solid block of 6061 aluminum alloy. The stock 21BB die cast heat sink is porous (less dense) and much weaker. It is much more susceptible to breaking during a crash. In addition to being much weaker, the die cast material of the stock head does not transfer heat as well. Not only does this 13 fin billet aluminum heat sink head offer much better cooling capacity than the stock 11 fin 21BB die cast heat sink, but it also should improve the reliability and increase the power producing potential of your 21BB engine by keeping things running cooler. We think it also looks MUCH better than the stock die cast head! You can see a picture of how this "cool" billet heat sink head looks on a Savage 21BB engine. The picture is not very good and slightly out of focus. This billet aluminum head looks even better on a 21BB than the picture shows...

This billet aluminum heat sink head even comes with a new head button/combustion chamber! Not only that, but it comes with a snap on plastic head protector. This is a great deal, and a great investment in your Savage.
REMINDER: This heat sink cooling head was designed to fit the stock Savage 21BB engine.
TIP: When removing the old 21BB heat sink head, be sure to use the head gasket shims on the new head button. There are usually 2 head shims on the 21BB engine. These shims/gaskets can be hard to notice since they are aluminum and blend in with the aluminum head button. You should use at least 1 of the head shims/gaskets to ensure a proper seal of the head to the engine block. Removing 1 of the 2 shims will slightly boost compression and may help improve performance slightly, but you need to run at least one shim/gasket. If you want to be safer, then run with both shims and keep the compression closer to stock levels.
RECOMMENDATION: We strongly recommend that a nitro engine be tuned along with a temperature gauge to ensure maximum performance and long engine life. In the past, these temperature gauges were expensive and most people did not want to spend that much money. However, we have now sourced a high quality, digital infrared temperature gauge and are offering it to our customers for only $29.95. You can find this gauge under Accessories or you can search for PETEMPGAUGE in the Search box at the top of any page.
ATTENTION FORCE 25 & 26 ENGINE OWNERS! GREAT NEWS.... we recently discovered that this billet aluminum heat sink head will also work on the Force 25 and 26 engines! PLEASE NOTE: The extra head button supplied by GPM will NOT fit the Force engines; however, the billet cooling head works great with the factory head button on the Force engines. Simply unscrew the 4 screws that hold the heat sink head in place. Leave the Force head button in place as it is. Take the GPM Billet Cooling Head (minus the new head button) and bolt it right on. A simple and easy swap. Just be sure that you carefully and gradually tighten all four head bolts down evenly. We test fit one of these GPM billet cooling heads on both a Force 25 and a Force 26 engine and it worked great. The Force 25 head button has a smaller diameter where it touches the base of the heat sink cooling head. No problem. This will not affect the function. The Force 26 head button has a larger diameter (like the Savage 21BB engine) where it contacts the heat sink cooling head, and it fits great with the GPM Billet Cooling Head. REMEMBER: ONLY USE THE GPM BILLET COOLING HEAD WITH THE FACTORY FORCE HEAD BUTTON. DO NOT TRY TO USE THE GPM HEAD BUTTON ON THE FORCE ENGINES!
This is an excellent upgrade for the Savage 21BB, Force 25 & 26 engines!
WE ARE OFFERING THIS TO OUR CUSTOMERS FOR AN EXTREMELY LOW PRICE! Why spend $40 - $50 for a billet heat sink head when you can get one for only $14.95!
SAVAGE 25 NOTE: The Savage S-25 engine that comes in the Savage 25 RTR and SS kits has a 11 fin billet aluminum heat sink head. If you prefer the natural aluminum finish of this GPM billet head or like the GPM 13 fin better than the stock 11 fin design, then you can also use this on the S-25. DO NOT USE THE GPM HEAD BUTTON ON THE S-25 ENGINE. YOU WILL NEED TO KEEP THE STOCK S-25 HEAD BUTTON AND JUST REPLACE THE COOLING HEAD.
PLEASE NOTE: The remaining cooling heads that we have of these have some minor nicks or scratches. That is why we have lowered the price on these to ONLY $14.95! In most cases, the nicks or scratches are small or not very obvious when installed on the engine. THESE ARE DEFINITELY WORTH MORE THAN $14.95!
