APPLICATION: WORKS WITH SAVAGE 21 RTR, 25 RTR, & 25 SS
This is the Hot Bodies Bullet Proof Titanium Savage Gear Shaft for the Savage. Titanium has one of the highest strength to weight ratios of any metal, and as a result it is used in applications where both superior strength and lower weight are desired. Because of its superior properties, Titanium is used in applications such as aerospace and racing high strength and low weight are needed.
This titanium shaft replaces the stock HPI steel gear shaft (HPI Drive Shaft HPI86081), and will not only reduce the overall weight of your Savage, but this titanium shaft will also help to reduce rotating weight in your Savage drivetrain. In most cases, Titanium metals are around 40% LIGHTER than many grades of Steel! THIS IS A BIG DIFFERENCE! Get high strength with low weight and help improve the performance of your Savage!
TECH TIP: Most everyone knows that lowering the weight of any vehicle can enhance performance, but did you know that lowering driveline weight can have a stronger effect on overall performance? By lowering rotational mass in a transmission and elsewhere in the driveline, the engine is able to spin up the lighter driveline faster and accelerate the whole truck quicker!
PLEASE NOTE: Do not get this Titanium Gear Shaft if you have the HPI Savage Reverse Module (or definitely plan to get it in the future). This particular gear shaft is removed and replaced with the Reverse Module.
RECOMMENDATION: If you want maximum performance benefits, it is a good idea to lighten up the whole driveline as much as possible. While you have the transmission taken apart, you might want to consider replacing several of the driveline components with lighter upgrade parts.
