Hot Bodies has come out with some MONSTER SIZE tires for the Savage! These tires and wheels are HUGE! To give you an idea of how big they really are...
A stock Savage tire has an outside diameter (OD) of around 6".
A stock T-MAXX tire has a OD of around 5.75".
The new Hot Bodies Psycho tire has a WHOPPING 7" OD!!
And thats not all. It is not just a bigger diameter tire, but it is also a significantly wider tire...
Stock Savage and T-MAXX tires are around 3.3" wide.
The new Hot Bodies Psycho tire is a massive 4" wide!
Thats around 20% more contact patch on the ground! Not only is it wider, but the tread design of the Psycho tire puts down nice, big blocks of tread to the ground. If you have a powerful upgrade engine like the Picco 26 Outlaw, then you might really appreciate the extra rubber to help effectively put down all that power to the ground!
These wheels/tires will also fit on the T-MAXX since the mounting hubs are the same.
We have found one real good way to use these new tires with a T-MAXX....

Just having a little fun with that picture! We think the T-MAXX is a good truck too. We even have a MAXX laying around here. Personally though, we prefer bigger trucks with BIG BLOCK engines. Its all part of the fun... sort of like the age old Ford vs. Chevy rivalry! :)
WE THINK THESE WHEELS AND TIRES LOOK VERY GOOD ON THE SAVAGE! The pictures do not do them justice - especially the black and white picture of the single wheel/tire which does not show the way the wheels look very well. THE UFO WHEELS HAVE A NICE CHROME FINISH. We think these look very cool on the Savage, and transforms it with a much more aggressive & intimidating look... which is why we also grabbed a set for our company truck! We were also very interested in the extra rubber on the ground to help put down some serious horsepower in the future!
Hot Bodies made the Psycho tire lower profile so that it not only looks great, but it also offers less sidewall flex and squirm than a higher profile tire. The huge 4.5" diameter UFO wheels have a beautiful chrome finish. The lower profile - combined with the fact that the Psycho tire carcass seems to be nice and sturdy - should help reduce tire ballooning and increase stability at higher speeds.
And higher speeds is what you should get with these! Because the Psycho tire diameter is a whopping 7" (1" bigger than stock), you are effectively increasing overall gearing by nearly 17% over stock!
To help better understand what this means... the biggest clutch bell that appears to fit on the Savage without hacking up the frame is a 16T. A stock Savage clutch bell is a 14 tooth. Switching to a 16T clutch bell gives you an increase of around 14% in overall gearing from stock. As mentioned, just bolting on a set of these BIG wheels/tires should increase overall gearing nearly 17% over stock!
WARNING: If you already geared up with a 16T clutch bell, be careful when bolting on these 61169 wheels/tires. They will give you another big jump in overall gearing and you might have too much gear. With overall gearing too high, it is possible that the clutch could be overworked. If nothing else (if you have the horsepower to push it) you might be breaking some monster truck land speed records with your Savage!!
RECOMMENDATION: We recommend that people start out by trying these HUGE wheels/tires along with the stock 14T clutch bell gear and see how that works.
When we bolted on a set of the 61169 wheels/tires onto our Savage, it increased the wheel track by a full 1.25 inches. What this means is that the foot print of the Savage is spread outward which should further improve handling, increase stability, and gives the Savage a radical & aggressive look! Not only is the footprint wider, but the HUGE 7" diameter Psycho tires gives your Savage an additional 0.5" of rough terrain eating ground clearance.
The beauty of these massive PSYCHO tires is that they already come premounted to the huge UFO wheels. Foams included and everything is already pre-glued! Hot Bodies calls it RTU (Ready to Use). Just bolt on these wheels/tires and you are ready to rip it up! No need to worry about CA glue and messing up your nice new wheels and tires with glue drips. No more fingers glued together either!
REMEMBER: These are packaged in pairs and you will need 2 sets to upgrade your Savage to SUPER SIZE!
To really SUPER SIZE your Savage, check out the Hot Bodies Extended Chassis HB61176. The extended chassis stretches the Savage wheel base by another 1" and are a great addition to the extra 1.25" track (width) provided by these huge wheels/tires! Transform your Savage to SUPER SIZE!
